SAP STRATEGIC ENTERPRISE MANAGEMENT
SAP Strategic Enterprise Management (SAP SEM) helps you translate your business strategy into everyday, real-life actions throughout your organization. And that includes business units, divisions, and geographical regions. With SAP SEM, every single employee or stakeholder will know what your strategy is -- and what it takes to put the strategy into action. And as the market dips and peaks -- or your priorities shift -- you can dynamically adapt your strategies, change the course of your organization, and most importantly learn from the experience. With SAP SEM, you get the ability to identify and act on value-building opportunities when they arise, thanks to tools and processes that:
SAP Strategic Enterprise Management consists of the following applications: Business Planning and Simulation. The Business Planning and Simulation application will help managers make more informed decisions to enhance the value of their company. The use of dynamic business strategy models, analysis and simulation processors will help in identifying the impact of various possible activities on overall strategy. This capability will help companies evaluate "what if" scenarios to support value-based decision-making and to link strategic planning with resource allocation. Business Consolidation. The Business Consolidation application accelerates corporate accounting processes by automating the legal and management consolidation process. It provides functions for value-based accounting, currency translation and elimination of inter-unit transaction as well as consolidation of investments. Business Information Collection. Business Information Collection includes the Web-based Editorial Workbench for gathering and incorporating unstructured information ("business news") from external sources through the World Wide Web. Business Information Collection also supports the collection of structured information from different sources. Corporate Performance Monitor. Performance monitoring uses industry-specific and customer-developed Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) linked to Balanced Scorecard or Management Cockpit scenarios to continuously monitor actual performance at all levels in the business relative to strategic targets. An effective monitoring system gives companies a way to determine how applied strategy affects outcome. Stakeholder Relationship Management. An important principle of value-based management is communication between the company and its employees, investors, analysts, customers and suppliers. The Stakeholder Relationship Management application will allow companies to significantly improve the communication process with these stakeholders.
