With the "Risk Management" function, you obtain an overview of potential risks and the consequences for your company if an event that was identified as a risk occurs. At the same time, you can define activities to counter undesired events in order to minimize the economic damage or balance out the effects.

SAP SEM’s risk management capabilities support the entire risk management process, including:

• Identification of business risks and administration of risk catalogs.
• Quantification of risk impacts.
• Assignment of business risks to business units and their objectives and performance targets.
• Planning of risk-reducing activities.
• Risk controlling including risk forecasts, risk status, written risk assessments, and risk e-mail notification.
